Utah Symposium for Special Education Personnel Preparation: Preparing Highly Effective Teachers

Meeting for all Special Education Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHEs) who have special education degrees and/or licensure programs. An opportunity to collaborate on and align needs and services. Identify action items that result in effective teacher preparation and teacher practice in the areas of numeracy, transition/graduation, autism, challenging behaviors, and tiered instruction to support the common core.

Target Audience is Special Education directors, coordinators, induction coordinators, IHE special education department staff, and the USOE Special Ed /UPDC staff.

Each participant will have the opportunity to join one Affinity/Interest Group for discussion of action items. These groups are: Numeracy, Transition/Graduation, Autism, Challenging Behaviors, and Tiered instruction to support the common core.
